Westport CT Celebrates Labor Day Weekend & BBQ with Blues & Views Festival
Labor Day weekend is just about upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with the Blues & Views Festival on the banks of of the Saugatuck River in downtown Westport, Connecticut. To be held Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1, at Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts, Blues, Views & BBQ Westport will showcase some of the best blues, funk and soul acts from across the nation including Anders Osborne, Lawrence, Southern Avenue, The Main Squeeze, Neville Jacobs and more.
They will be joined by The Commonheart, Flow Tribe, Kat Wright, The National Reserve and High and Mighty Brass Band. A yearly tradition since 2008, the festival will also feature up-and-coming regional blues and rock artists on a separate stage including Jake Kulak and The Lowdown and young musicians from School of Rock in Fairfield CT.
Festival-goers need to bring their appetites to the food court, chef demos and, of course, the BBQ competition. Family-friendly and easy on the wallet (weekend passes are less than $82, and kids under 12 go free), the event also offers up loads of activities for the little ones at the Jesup Jam, which includes bouncy amusements, sponsor giveaways and pie-and-rib-eating contests. Tickets for the Jesup Jam are purchased separately and are just $12.52 each.
