Must-See Undercard Bands at Sonic Temple

Sonic Temple is a brand new music festival taking place in Columbus, Ohio, from May 17-19. The festival grounds were previously known for hosting the much beloved Rock on the Range, which was co-owned by Danny Wimmer Presents and AEG Presents before they split up. Sonic Temple is solely a DWP production, and they have made quite an impact with their inaugural lineup.

Foo Fighters, Disturbed, and System of a Down are set to headline. I am beyond excited to see all the headliners, especially System of a Down. They have been one of my favorite bands since I was a kid, and I have grown up raging to their music. Headliners play for only a portion of the day; it’s about the music that leads up to them that really matters. Sonic Temple has created one of the most beautiful lineups of the year; from top to bottom it is just spectacular. There are five undercard acts at Sonic Temple that are well worth the price of admission by themselves.

The Struts

The Struts have been riding a cloud full of rock and roll glory for the past few years, and their fame is much deserved. These English rockers remind you why you fell in love with music in the first place. Their live shows are a spectacle fueled by limitless energy and heart-stopping vocals. They’ll be playing on Saturday; do not miss their set.

Black Pistol Fire

Black Pistol Fire is made up of two dudes bring blues rock back to life after jamming an adrenaline needle into its heart. This indie rock duo brings more sound and energy to the stage than most five-piece bands. These Austin, Texas, natives transcend multiple genres with the force of a lightning storm in the middle of the ocean.

Andrew Dice Clay

Okay, okay, I know he isn’t a musician, but how can you turn down the chance to see The Dice Man live? His standup is just about as rock and roll as you can get without a guitar. He is an absolute legend.

Badflower

Badflower is a Los Angeles-based rock quartet who masterfully mix punk and indie rock to create a unique sound fueled by intimate lyrics and heavy riffs. Emotional rage combined with spectacular storytelling abilities and a thunderous stage presence create a live show unlike any other that will occur at Sonic Temple.

Fever 333

You may not see a pit as wild as the one that will emerge during Fever 333‘s set. They’re a mix of heavy metal, hip hop, hardcore, and punk; all of which they incorporate flawlessly into their music and live shows. Crowdsurfing is pretty much a guarantee, and so is a good time.
