Funk Fest Punta Gorda Releases Daily Lineup Schedule
The daily schedule is out for one of Florida’s most funktastic events – Funk Fest Punta Gorda. To be held February 15 and 16 at City Marketplace in downtown Punta Gorda, the festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary with funk and jam powerhouses The Werks, Here Come The Mummies and Lettuce as headliners. They will be joined by Papadosio, The Joe Marcinek Band, Voodoo Visionary, Funk You, The Floatiez, Hedonistas and Banyan.
Fans will have the opportunity to see The Werks, Funk You, Voodoo Visionary and Hedonistas on both nights along with some not-to-be-missed performances. These include The Werks “Funks The Red Hot Chili Peppers” on Friday night and The Floatiez, made up of members of Funk You, Voodoo Visionary, and Hedonistas, doing a “Jamiroquai Jam.”
Also on tap for Friday is “Dead Funk Summit” with legendary pianist Melvin Seals of The Jerry Garcia Band; Nikki Glaspie, the heavy hitting drummer and founder of The Nth Power; and bassist Tony Hall of New Orleans masters of funk and soul Dumpstaphunk. They will return on Saturday to perform with versatile guitarist and bandleader Joe Marcinek as part of The Joe Marcinek Band, an ever-changing outfit that always has surprise collaborations in store.
