Melted Music Festival – Columbus, Ohio
Melted Music Festival is a one-day celebration of everything that makes rock and roll great. The Nelsonville Music Festival and Archie Fox Live have helped create a brand new live music experience. Held at The Bluestone, which is hands down one of the coolest venues in Columbus, Ohio, this all-day extravaganza of music will take place February 24th.
From 1 to 11 pm, nearly a dozen bands will take over the 100-year-old church-turned-music venue. Punk, psychedelic and indie rock will come alive in all of its glory with the help of some of my personal favorite bands. Ty Segall & White Fence are headlining to support their recent collaborative album Joy, but I hope to hear some of their solo stuff as well. Black Lips, Kikagaku Moyo, Deerhoof, Cherry Glazerr, Ma Holos, Dana, and Hongo Gonzo Liquid Light Show will also be at Melted.
Get Melted
When you arrive at Melted, you are agreeing to have your brain tickled in the best type of ways. Early 1960s experimental psychedelia will be alive and well throughout Melted Music Festival. Hongo Gonzo puts on one of the coolest and most hypnotic light shows out there, and they do it without a $100,000+ set of lasers. They utilize primarily analog methods in their performances, in the tradition of the light shows produced during the peak of the counterculture movement.
They do it all live along with the music that is happening on stage. It’s all improvised and works magnificently to pull your soul through your eyes and into the music. The Bluestone’s atmosphere is enough to make this single-day festival stand out. When you add in the mind-bending light show and some of the most unusual and culminating bands out there, all attendees are in for something special. Tickets are on sale now for only $60; get them before this sells out.
