The BIG What? Brings Big Family and Even Bigger Jams to North Carolina!

There are few things in this festival world better than chillin’ with your festival family and listening to your favorite tunes, and there are few places that do that better than The BIG What? – a homegrown festival curated by the awesome guys of North Carolina’s BIG Something.

If you want a BIG festival lineup in a small place, surrounded by art, amazing food, and nothing but friendly faces and Southern hospitality, you won’t come across a more accessible festival than The BIG What? has to offer. You can expect a little bit of everything, from Southern rock and noodly jams and electronic to funk and metal and everything in between, as well as two sets a day from up-and-coming powerhouse band Big Something.

What started as a farm party for their friends and early supporters of the band has grown to encompass the beautiful grounds of Shakori Hills in Pittsboro, NC. The band really puts a lot of care into creating a lineup that just never stops.

This year attendees were bestowed with an exceptional lineup, with extended sets not only from BIG Something  but also TAUK, Sunsquabi, Cory Wong (arguably the best set of the weekend), Consider the Source, Lazer/Wulf, Funk You, Casey and the Comrades, Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers, Come Back Alice, Dr. Bacon, Becca Stevens, The Southern Belles, Groove Fetish, Treehouse, special sets from BIG What? friend Mister, Voodoo Visionary, Scott Moss Band, Emma’s Lounge, The Kind Thieves, and South Hill Banks.

A few rain delays cut some sets short, but it certainly didn’t stop the momentum of the weekend. As soon as we had the all clear, everyone was back in action to keep the party rolling.

Every year this festival grows and adds even better music, art and surprises, but you can feel that this is still just a huge family party at heart – it’s just a bit bigger now.

Thankfully we had David Lee there to let you see just how good it gets! Check out his gallery, and don’t sleep on this little festival, because there’s no sleeping all weekend if you’re there!
