Beale Street Music Festival Friday Night Fun

Sitting in the bend of the mighty Mississippi River, Beale Street Music Festival (BSMF) kicked of Friday night. With warm weather and rays of sunshine breaking through scattered clouds, 6 PM was time for the music to start. Patrons carting rain jackets tromped in to Tom Lee Park, clad in boots for the looming storm. Threat of storm did not keep concert goers away, however, as the park felt as though it were on the verge of capacity.

There is a reason the park felt full, and that is variety. Part of what makes BSMF great is the variety of tunes it brings out, especially for a small non-camping festival. Where other similarly-sized festivals pick a niche, BSMF brings out bands from all genres. From heavy-hitting heavy metal such as Queens of the Stone Age and ’90s throwback and still vocal queen Alanis Morissett to blues-influenced North Mississippi Allstars, there is something at Beale Street, be you a Dead-, bass-, or metal-head, or anything in between.

Saturday brings even more variety; just check out the schedule below! Single-day tickets are still available, so come down to Memphis, and let’s boogy!
