Umphrey’s McGee Roars Along the Blue Ridge Rockway

Our man in Asheville, David Lee, had a great time shooting the third annual Blue Ridge Rockway February 16th and 17th at the ExploreAsheville.com Arena (formerly Cellular One), with The Marcus King Band opening both nights for Umphrey’s McGee.

He said,

Smokin’ shows, but Saturday stood out for sure! Between the “Remind Me” to close the first set (one of my favorites from the new It’s Not Us album) to the “Ocean Billy/Wappy” sandwich in the second, word was amongst the Velociraptors for Jesus crowd that this was one for the ages!

Funny… getting lots of play on this shot… Bayliss (otherwise called Baylor, etc…) deploys the flying bird, which is synonymous with anything Operatic, or chorusy…

The arena is always very sweet, & their people are always congenial… especially the backstage people I deal with. Love working this venue!
