Forecastle Artist Spotlight: *repeat repeat
By: MFN Contributor Kelli Kocak
The best part of a music festival is discovering your new favorite band. With an electrifying mix of indie surfadelic pop and garage rock surging with post-punk grit, *repeat repeat is bound to be one of the top takeaway acts from the upcoming Forecastle Festival going down this weekend, July 14-16, 2017, in Louisville, KY.
While Nashville, TN, is home for frontman Jared Corder, drummer Andy Herrin, and vocalist/keys player Kristyn Corder, they are by no means bound by the region’s musical roots. They have a distinct, complex sound that showcases a unique mix of east and west coast vibes, and the result is a melodical tale that has never been told before but feels immediately familiar.
With influences ranging from Bad Religion and Black Flag (Jared) to Nada Surf and Gin Blossoms (Andy) to The Mamas and the Papas and The Everly Brothers (Kristyn), *repeat repeat was destined to invent an original sound that pays homage to legends and transcends generations.
*repeat repeat will be playing Forecastle festival Saturday, July 15 from 1:00-1:30pm at the Port stage, with subsequent tour dates in Cleveland, OH; Macon, GA; and Atlanta, GA.
Catch *repeat repeat, your favorite band’s favorite band, on stage this summer as they prepare to explode onto the scene with the upcoming debut of their sophomore album under newly signed label Dangerbird Records.
