‘A Wonderful Evening’ – Ben Strok & the Full Electric Honor Stevie Wonder
Looking for A Wonderful Evening after a magical Earth Day? Head to The 1904 Music Hall in Jacksonville for an evening with Ben Strok & the Full Electric and SoleMark honoring the musical genius who is Stevie Wonder. That’s Saturday, April 22nd.
Strok’s new band picks up where Herd of Watts, the group they had before, left off. For this special show, the quartet will blossom into an 11-member orchestra, doing Mr. Wonder properly. Ben explains:
Yeah, this date, April 22, really showcases the ultimate goal of Ben Strok & The Full Electric. Gathering fantastic musicians —11 of us this go-‘round —into one freight train of sonic bliss!
It’s obviously dedicated to the genius that is Stevie Wonder and will feature some ‘hits’ along with a healthy dose of lesser known or less frequently visited tracks, and that is the part I’m really excited about. The show seems to marry the depth of his writing to the depth of this very talented cast I am lucky enough to work with on this project.
And SoleMark from SE Florida WILL BE OPENING the show. They’re a super talented group of jazz fusion players and are some really nice guys to boot. So getting to hear them and visit with them again is icing on the cake for what will be a fantastic night!
Music of My Mind, Talking Book, Innervisions, Fulfillingness’ First Finale, Song in the Key of Life, …
Yes, you need to go already!
