Bonnaroo Reveals Late Night Sets & New Themed Campgrounds
The late night acts for this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival have just been released. Fans of Major Lazer, Flume, Marshmello, Big Gigantic, Portugal. The Man, Russ, Shpongle, Snails, Claude Vonstroke, G Jones, OOkay, Kevin Abstract, and Kaiydo can all expect late-night to early morning sets on The Farm. And if this year’s 16th anniversary is anything like years past, we can expect one of these artists to perform until that beautiful Tennessee sun rises. Details will be out soon for the infamous Superjam (where major artists from different bands jam out for hours), as well as daily schedules.
Bonnaroo is being held June 8th through the 11th in Manchester. For 15 years, 80,000+ happy campers have traveled from across the world to the middle of Tennessee to pop their tents and join the Roo community, and this year the organizers are trying something a little different with “Community Camping.”
In years past, campers would drive through the main entrances, and luck would determine where they’d end up and who their neighbors would be. Most Bonnaroo veterans have theories about when to arrive and which entrance to use in order to guarantee a coveted place close to Centeroo. But this year, Bonnaroo has launched a new Community Camping program, in response to surveys given to attendees. They have offered Family Camping and Soberoo Camping in years past, and this summer they are adding even more options.
Fan SuperJam camping will allow Bonnaroovians who play instruments or sing to camp together for late-night jams. Girls Just Wanna! will be specifically for female-identifying campers. And People + Planet Camping will allow, you guessed it, campers who care for the planet to come together. Each group campsite is located close to Centeroo and will feature special events and programming geared towards their respective interests.
Community Camping is an additional $50 fee, but if you have already purchased a car camping pass, there is an option to upgrade it. More info about Community Camping and to register is here.
Tickets for Bonnaroo are on sale now. The final lineup is below, with the additional 35+ artists and the full comedy lineup. Bonnaroo 2017 is already shaping up to be another epic year. The whole team at MusicFestNews can already taste the Amish doughnuts.
