Life In Color To Celebrate Its 10-Year Anniversary In Miami’s Art District
Deeply tranced in an ecstatic musical bliss as the bass drops, paint ascends the corridors of each canvas, and you’ve now found yourself in one of the world’s largest paint parties. Life in Color has been offering festival goers a slice of heaven brought to you by the dopest DJs and an array of colorful eye-catching paint cannons. Sebastian Solano, Paul Campbell, Lukasz Tracz and Patryk Tracz founded what we know today as one of the most replicated styles of events.
Let actually take a step backwards, before the four found themselves innovating the festival scene. The beginning of this blessing to the music world started at the campus of FSU in 2006, where four roommates decided to take the idea of a fraternity tradition: a paint-themed party on the road. The ignition that was sparked within was fueled by late-night house music ragers and paint being thrown between the attendees at the party. After participating in their first paint party, they quickly put together a college tour of what later became known as Dayglow. Word got out: the dynamics of Dayglow offered the best opportunity to find yourself caught between the musical melodies and handfuls of paints being tossed throughout the night.
As the traction began to grow, houses became clubs, and handfuls of paint became spray cannons. Knowing that the inspiration had no bounds, Dayglow started getting the attention of companies such as Disco Donnie, based out of Tampa, FL. Mentoring the group of individuals, Disco Donnie brought the experience to the table. Throughout the years Dayglow attracted major acts such as Diplo, who is actually one of the artists on the bill for this year’s 10th-anniversary event in Miami. One of their pinnacles of success was reached in 2009-10 when they were asked to host a stage at Ultra Music Festival. Much like the attendees are showered with paint, these four guys were dripping wet with success.
Fresh out of their Beats, Love, Unity (BLU) Tour in 2011, Sebastian Solano connected with Bob Sillerman, who created what we know today as SFX. After much discussion and deliberation, SFX merged Dayglow under its belt, renaming the tour Life in Color. Once the merger was done, in 2013 Life in Color reached the lives of festie heads in over 25 countries. SFX absolutely, without a doubt, gave these four boys the opportunity to take an even further step towards fame and fortune. Although money and material were always there for taking, these gentlemen weren’t driven by this force. Simply, they just were a bunch of house music lovers just wanting to hand out love in the form paint parties and bangers.
Skipping ahead just over three years, we’ve arrived at the 10th anniversary of this magical event. Usually held at Sun Life stadium, they decided to head back to their roots of the event by holding this year’s extravaganza at MANA Wynwood in Miami, FL January 28th. Offering more of an intimate vibe, be sure to come catch your favorite artists like Young Thug, Marshmello, Desiigner, and many more acts at this year’s event. Tickets are available on the LIC Miami website, so be sure not to miss out on what appears to be a memorable experience.
As a writer and festivalgoer for close to ten years, I can say that the progression of this music festival is nothing less than spectacular. Hope in the form that any person reading this can see everyone has the ability to create a massive blowout like Life in Color. It just takes dedication towards whatever you pursue in life.
