STS9 Returns to the Rocks
Once again, another staple weekend on the Red Rocks calendar is upon us, with the STS9 bandmates making their home on stage at the epic venue next weekend, September 9th and 10th. This upcoming two-day run marks the group’s tenth visit as headliners and finds the band as busy as ever.
Hot on the heels of the release of their first studio album in seven years, Universe Inside, available as of September 2nd, the psychedelic fivesome are approaching their third stop on a lengthy tour that will take them well into November. The tour kicked off last weekend with a homecoming of sorts for the band, as they started out in their hometown Atlanta, Georgia, at the famed Tabernacle and continued on the next night to Alpharetta where they played one of their beloved acoustic “Axe The Cables” sets.
On top of the tour and album, the band also finds themselves playing the role of trendsetters with a new paid-subscription service, Drip, a program where fans enroll for a monthly fee and in return have unprecedented access to tour and studio material, both old and new, available for download and stream.
Between this, the new album, and the seemingly endless touring, it’s a miracle these guys (and gal) have enough time to evolve their live shows into the awe-inspiring display they are known to be. And yet, they show no signs of slowing down, so if you’re in town, and you think you can keep up, maybe we’ll see you on the rocks September 9th and 10th.
Also, while you’re here, why not check out the new tunes?
