Arkells Release New Video for “Drake’s Dad” and North American Tour Dates
If you have been to festivals this year, and I am willing to bet you have, you may have heard about or been lucky enough to catch Arkells. The Canadian rock powerhouse hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, had already won everyone over in their homeland with major spots at Canadian staples such as WayHome Music and Arts Festival, Rock the Shores, Pemberton and others. Now they have set their sights on the States, having made appearances at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Firefly, and Lollapalooza. We hope you have (or will) check them out if you get a chance, because they are seriously a good time.
Thankfully, if you missed them at a festival this year, you have ample opportunities to catch them when they swing through your city this fall! Along with a video for their song “Drake’s Dad” (which features fellow Canadian Drake’s ACTUAL dad, and was filmed while they were in Tennessee for Bonnaroo – check it out below), they also released a slew of dates across North America, both in support of Frank Turner and on their own, just in time for their new album, Morning Report, being released August 5.

We had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Arkells – who are Max Kerman, Nick Dika, Mike DeAngelis, Tim Oxford and Anthony Carone – at Bonnaroo this year, and we can tell you from experience you won’t want to miss these guys when they swing through your town. They put on one heck of a performance and are some of the nicest dudes you are likely to meet. Just don’t challenge them to a game of “Canadian corn hole” (hint – it involves hockey pucks). We learned the hard way what happens when you do that.
