Farm to Family Announces Full Moon Concert: Autumn Music Festival
Farm to Family is excited to announce Full Moon Concert, their Autumn music festival, November 10-13. This great event was created in 2005, and there are now two events each year (spring and autumn). This is also the second time the fest will be held at All-Tech Raceway Park in Lake City FL.
This year’s crops of performers is absolutely top-notch, headlined by The Dr. himself, Mr. Roosevelt Collier, known both for his brilliant work with the Lee Boys and his collaborations with amazing musicians all over the U.S. He will present his Farm to Family Get Down to close out the pre-party Thursday night. Doesn’t matter who he brings with him — it’s guaranteed to be jaw-dropping, face-melting joy.
Some of Asheville’s finest talent is heading south for this one. The Jon Stickley Trio, featuring Lyndsay Pruett and Patrick Arbitrage, play stunning newgrass and so much more. Nikki Talley and Jason Sharp are a wonderful duo, and she is a great songwriter as well. Grits and Soul is another great duo with great vocals and picking. More: yes! Taylor Martin’s Engine.
There is more great Americana, folk, bluegrass, new grass, outlaw country and beyond, including Verlon Thompson (Oklahoma), Grass is Dead (South Florida), Dean Johanesen (Tampa), Brian Smalley (Apopka), Quartermoon (Gainesville) and Chelsea Saddler (Jacksonville). A word about Uproot Hootenanny (Deerfield Beach): these boys just ain’t right. In addition to roots music and bluegrass, they dabble in… Celtic music and more, most of it “whiskey-fueled fun.” They know more songs about whiskey than Jack Daniels!
Suppose you’re ready to rock out? On top of Roosevelt’s set, two of the best bands in Florida will be there: two ladies, two fiddles (violins, whatever). Coincidence? I think not! Come Back Alice (Sarasota) and Flat Land (Gainesville) will rock your socks off! Young guitar-slinger Ben Sparaco (Coral Springs and Nashville) has been killing it at every show he plays, and Bonnie Blue (Jacksonville) is a dynamite Southern rock band.
More Gainesville rock? Locochino rocks, SYZYGY plays prog rock, and Hard Luck Society does rockabilly!
The Jesse Smith Project is an eight-piece New Orleans band, and de Lions of Jah bring the dancehall reggae beat to the fest. In the Moment, Don Austin and Daryl & Friends round out this amazing lineup.
This is going to be a blast. Know what would make it even better? Hold it. Look one more time at the lineup. Got it? OK.
You can still pick up early-bird tickets until Monday, August 1st! Seriously, tickets are just $35 through this Sunday night. That’s a dollar and a half a band. You can’t afford NOT to go! Catch those early birds NOW!
You can find lots more information on the official festival website.
And we haven not mentioned yet that one of our favorite MCs, Big Mike McCullough (“Mushroom Stage! Yeah, yeah, YEAH!”), is one of the organizers and will be there to meet and greet us!
