An Interview with Melia Marzollo MAYfest Founder

After sitting down and talking with yogini and founder of MAYfest, Melia Marzollo, it is apparent that this event has much more to offer than your typical music festival. Melia has teamed up with her husband, Catskill Chill Music Festival founder, Dave Marzollo to create a truly unique event in the festival scene.

MAYfest, wordplay with the festival’s timing, really means Music, Art and Yoga festival. By looking at all the classes and workshops they have lined up, you can tell that this festival is focused on the opportunity to rejuvenate your body and soul after enjoying nights of amazing music. Allowing you to have creative freedom and realign with your body while learning new skills to improve your daily life, this family friendly festival is truly focused on community and holistic health. Take a hike through the beautiful mountains, join a Kirtan chant, learn how to make an instrument, create a dreamcatcher or try stand-up paddle board yoga! Whatever you are into, MAYfest gives you the ability to create a full schedule of positive activities all day long.

The festival has powerful performers such as Turkuaz, Hayley Jane and the Primates, Pink Talking Fish, Trevor Hall and more. Well-known yoga instructors Raghunath, Sondra LoringJulian Paik, and more will be teaching many different types of unique yoga based classes. Through a partnership with the non-profit Garrison Art Center, artists Cathy Curto, Christina DiMarco, Emmett McLaughlin, Helen Michelsen and others will be teaching both adult and children’s art classes throughout the weekend. Don’t miss out on this chance to shake off the winter in beautiful upstate New York, day passes start at just $35, or try a total immersion for $215 for the whole weekend!

Head to their website to check out all of their offerings and to create your own personalized schedule before you get to the camp. Be sure to watch the full interview with Melia right here:
