Captain Green Does Lundi Gras, Little Econ Love Fest and More!
Captain Green, the superb Baton Rouge band that describes their music as “Thrash Funk / Sci-fi Noir / Intergalactic Space-Jazz” (a very accurate description, by the way), heads to NOLA for two shows prior to Mardi Gras, then to Florida and Georgia before returning to Baton Rouge for a pair of special shows: the Red Stick Family Jam and the TEDxLSU afterparty. They are also slated for Some Kind of Jam 11 in Pennsylvania in April, with more tour dates to be announced.
They will headline the third night of the Little Econ Love Fest (February 11-14) at the Maddox Ranch in Lakeland FL and will join forces with New Earth Army at The Sidebar Theatre in Tallahassee as well.
Captain Green hosted the super jam at the inaugural Reunion: Campground Concert Series at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park last August and have been presenting music from their tune fine albums, especially the truly spacey 2015 release Protect Each Other Together. You can read their MusicFestNews feature from March here and the Reunion preview with album review here.
Members of Captain Green are: Ross Hoppe – Keyboards, Kevin McMann – Saxophones, Darin Jones – Saxophones, Grant Hudson – Guitar, Robert Kling – Bass, Michael Harris – Drums, and Chris “Katt” Lee – Drums. Learn more on the band’s official website.
