Whippersnap Music & Arts Festival is Three Weeks Away!

Whippersnap Music & Arts Festival’s second appearance at Florida Sand Music Ranch is three weeks away — February 20–22 with a preparty on February 19. Once again, the lineup is loaded, and music bounces back and forth between the Whippersnap Stage and the Home Team Stage.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19

The Whippersnap preparty on Wednesday features two sets by excellent Allman Brothers tribute band Steeln’ Peaches. You will need a separate pass for this event.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20

Last year’s event started with a serious BANG: Sooza Brass Band from Gainesville. This was a no-brainer having them reprise their show! Not only that, but the Sooza Horns are also artists at large for the weekend! Barefoot Fred from Chicago and Bodhichitta from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, were there last year and are in fact bands that played the first Whippersnaps in the Chicago area 2011–2013. Also on tap are the outstanding Organ Fairchild from Buffalo; the members have played together for 40 years but only turned their enterprise into an explosive organ trio in 2020!

The Florida-Georgia connection is alive and well with Tire Fire, and shoeless soul from clearwater always delight. Joe Marcinek has once again assembled one of his amazing confabs, while the wonderfully manic group The Firewater Tent Revival will rage in their unique .

The one and only Keller Williams, the first real looping star on the jam scene, returns to the Bay area for another joyous dance party.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21

The day begins with superb young rising star Kat Hines. Tasty Vibrations bring their reggae-, funk-, and hip hop-infused jam from Pompano Beach. Tampa monster funksters The Reality have been raging of late, and Chris Sgammato’s Displace will somehow recover from Jam Cruise to crush a fine Whippersnap set.

If you don’t know The Ain’t Sisters yet, then it’s high time to learn why they played the Meadow stage at Suwannee Hulaween and just rocked Athens’ 40 Watt Club. Excited beyond belief to see live jamtronic masters Greenhouse Lounge back from their hiatus! Minim have truly blown up in the past couple of years, as we recall from their knock-out set last year. Guavatron also return after a brilliant 2024 and plan to roll full speed ahead with their West Palm Beach jamtronic prog rock.

Polyrhythmics will, like Displace, have just tumbled off Jam Cruise. The Seattle horn-driven band deserve the headline spot, and everyone is glad to see them here in Florida; they were scheduled Clearwater Jazz Holiday in October which was washed out by Helene.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22

Chicago Farmer, a.k.a. Cody Diefhoff, has been in the business for more than two decades as a troubadour, from Chicago. Naples’ funkiest rockers Moonstone Riders are ready to throw down great originals and choice covers as well. You likely know The HeadTones from St. Petersburg, who drew the well-deserved choice assignment of opening Suwannee Hulaween. Antelope: A Tribute to the Band Phish are outstanding, covering a huge swath of that band’s canon.

Tru Phonic hail from the Space Coast, appropriate given their skyrocketing presence on the scene. You can congratulate the dynamic duo Future Joy, because Emily and Zach are getting married February 1 during their Joyful Fest in St. Petersburg!

Ajeva belong on the national stage, PERIOD. Their brilliant set two weeks ago opening for Spafford highlighted their incredible range including jam, funk, prog metal, and more.

The New Mastersounds played their first show in the U.S. in over four years at last year’s Whippersnapwith two magnificent sets. This year, the superb boogaloo-jazz-funk quartet are back with two more sets to put the icing on the Whippersnap cake!
