The Grass is Dead: Delightful Bluegrass Interpreters of The Dead
The Grass is Dead have an ambitious January calendar, beginning Wednesday, January 8, at Underbelly in Jacksonville. This run will stop at Everglades Roots Fest this weekend, and they’ll do two nights at the one and only Green Parrot in Key West. Of special note is the show on Sunday, January 12 at Terra Fermata Tiki Bar featuring special guest and founding GID member Bubba Newton.
As always, the band’s bluegrass versions of the Grateful Dead and related music will be welcomed back to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park for Suwannee Spring Reunion, doubly special given that Helene’s rampage through the park forced cancellation of Suwannee Roots Revival.
The Grass is Dead are: Billy Gilmore, banjo, mandolin , guitar, fiddle , vocals; Brian Drysdale, drums, vocals; Drew Matulich, guitars, vocals; Jared Womack, dobro; and Ed Richardson, bass.
