Joe Marcinek: Out with the Old, In with the New

Year, that is! The ubiquitous Joe Marcinek has two more dates on the 2024 calendar before jumping feet-first into 2025. Friday finds Marcinek again corralling great players for another edition of his Dead Funk Summit, this time with Danny Luehring, Angeline Saris, Alex Jordan, Jenifer Freebairn, Chris Hoogewerff, Brendan Liu, Stephanie Salva, and more special guests at Hopmonk Tavern. On Sunday, he and Robert Randolph headline the Allman Betts Band Family Revival afterparty at the Boom Boom Room.

On to 2025!

Marcinek returns to one of his favorite homes away from home (where IS that, Joe?), headlining two nights at Dunedin Brewery with Joe Marcinek’s Snowbird Jamboree. Also on the bill for January 9 are resilient Asheville rockers The Snozzberries.

On Saturday, January 11, Marcinek will team up with Mike Bryant, Vinny Svoboda, and Yral ‘datdudeondrums’ Morris for their explosive collaboration Brain Emoji at Bayboro Brewing. They are opening for a quartet that blew our minds last January when they enjoyed some of the Florida sunshine: Adam Deitch (Lettuce), Eric Benny Bloom (Lettuce), Brad Adam Miller, and BIGYUKI.
