Jazz is Dead: Ready for Big December Run

Jazz is Dead are back for a ten-date December run of shows, with five in the Northeast and then five more in the Midwest (four in Illinois). There are also some dates already popping up for 2025, with lots more to come.

Jazz is Dead, led by founder Alphonso Johnson, are excited to continue to explore the music of Grateful Dead.

Jazz is Dead

Johnson was with the original configuration of the band from 1998 to 2001 and a return in 2015 and 2016.  This new incarnation of the band, created in 2023, features Alphonso Johnson, bass; Pete Lavezzoli, drums; Steve Kimock, guitars; and Bobby Lee Rodgers, guitars, banjo.

[Ed. note: There is another Jazz is Dead entity, a superb jazz label with 22 albums issued;
no relation to the band noted above.]
