The Ain’t Sisters: New Single, Suwannee Hulaween & More Shows!

The Ain’t Sisters from Hot ’Lanta will release their brand new song Beyond the Blue on Friday, October 25, two days before they play the BIG stage for their Suwannee Hulaween debut. They will be performing on Sunday, the only other band other than Bobby Weir and The String Cheese Incident.

Beyond the Blue will be available on all streaming platforms. Pre-save here. You will also be able to hear it live Sunday at Hulaween. The single was produced and engineered by Adam Horwitz in his studio in Tampa and mastered by Andy Lytle, sound engineer for Billy Strings. Beyond the Blue was written by Barb Carbon, for certain one of The Ain’t Sisters. It’s a song that comes from the grief of losing friends too soon.

We had recently lost several other friends and fellow musicians. As I sat alone with my guitar, I thought about all of the ways people fall away from this physical experience. I thought about what it feels like to be so covered up in grief that sometimes it seems like the only way to deal with the pain is to join them. But then I thought better of it, realizing that pain like that radiates out in powerful waves, and the strongest thing I could think to do was to write this song that encapsulated my feeling of grief and despair, a song that would, hopefully, act as salve to allow catharsis and relieve some of the pain.
Our good friend Adam heard it along the way somewhere. A few weeks before his birthday, he called me and asked if I would come down and let him record Beyond the Blue in his home studio as his birthday present. I was beyond honored.

This is the first of many new singles coming your way from The Ain’t Sisters. They are working on a brand new album that will be released early next year. This single is not on the album, but look for more album release info coming soon. Yes, this is The Ain’ts’ Hulaween debut, but they are no strangers to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. They are regular darlings at Suwanee Spring Reunion and Suwannee Roots Revival.They were scheduled for this year’s Roots Revial before Helene crashed the party.

The Ain’t Sisters are: Arrie Bozeman, guitars, mandolin, vocals ; Barb Carbon, guitars, vocals; Justin Boudreau, bass; and Richie Jones, drums, vocals. Most often, either Ian Klin or Damian Kapcala joins them on keyboards.
