Schedule is Here for Sunshine Hootenanny in November
Sunshine Hootenanny at Florida Sand Music Ranch in Brooksville, Florida, has released the daily schedule for its inaugural event November 21-23, and the lineup is dynamite. Hootenanny is the second festival created by Sunshine Music & Arts Festivals, which just hosted their second Sunshine Get Down in May.
This is a very easy festival to navigate: two stages, side by side, with alternating sets. You won’t have to miss a single note1
Let’s look at the daily schedules!
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21
Low Ground Trio will open Sunshine Hootenanny with their bluegrass-inspired acoustic jams.
The ubiquitous Rich Sheldon plays great original music and works with Dead and other tribute groups. This time, he and mates are performing as The Strolling Moans.
We’re looking forward to grateful Dead grooves from Ship of Fools (festival organizer Turner Moore and friends).
The well-deserved Thursday headliners are Tru Phonic, bringing their deep horn-driven grooves from the Space Coast.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22
There is a full day of music awaiting you, with Woody & Sunshine opening the stage at 11:30 a.m. From there, music bounces back and forth all day along.
The multitalented Fil Pate & Friends Trio always delight, whether it’s bluegrass, jazz, rock, or whatever is on Pate’s mind at the time.
One Love Rising bring the deep reggae grooves with Juanjamon, Este Love and friends.
The Grateful Dawg tribute honors the duo recordings of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman; Billy Gilmore (The Grass is Dead) and Mickey Abraham are up to the task!
Massive funksters The Reality have re-emerged on the scene in a big way, and this will be a party!
The Sarasota family weighs in with RJ Howson, Berry Oakley Jr. & Friends bringing you superb Southern rock.
It has been several years since Bobby Lee Rodgers has graced the stage in Brooksville. This time he is performing with his trio. He is one of the greatest guitarists in our scene (banjo, too!). Welcome back!
If you’ve never seen the whirling dervish sprite named Karina Rykman, you are in for a real treat. She is fronting her own superb trio, and she also plays bass with Marco Benevento.
moe. have four more festivals slated from October through January, their only appearances until 2025. Sunshine Hootenanny are blessed to have the long-time jamband kingpins from upstate New York for TWO NIGHTS. They have played all of the major festivals in our sphere, well into their FOURTH decade in the business of making jam!
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 23
A number of area festivals used to have a very special performance to open the final day, and we strongly suggested you DO NOT miss the Blue Skye Pipe & Drum corps.
Jocelyn Hobson Band & Alleycat K come from the Sgammato School of Music.
Row Jomah are perennial favorites in this area, and for Hootenanny they will reprise their dynamite Quinten Tarantino music tribute Royale with Cheese.
Grandpa’s Cough Medicine haven’t played in these here parts for far too long; prepare for bluegrass with tongue-in-cheek humor, scathing social commentary, unbridled savagery, and a heavy metal attitude.
Jerryland featuring guitarist Paul Wolff (Dead Set Florida)celebrates the music of The Jerry Garcia Band.
Tony Tyler has worn numerous hats for various musical styles in his career. This time, he has put together an amazing collective for Dose, a tribute to Gov’t Mule featuring Jacob Cox (guitar), Kenny Harvey (bass), and Rage Paige Cantrell on drums.
Dogs in a Pile qualifiy as relative youngsters, six years into their journey into jam. The Asbury Park quintet have made a huge splash since then, creating a huge presence on the scene.
Nobody every says NO MO’ moe.! Two fabulous nights of the boys from Buffalo!
