Ajeva: New Single “Stowed Away,” Upcoming Shows & Album
St. Petersburg powerhouse funk rock machine Ajeva are debuting new single “Stowed Away” today, and they have shows coming up, beginning with a run through Charleston, Asheville, and Savannah next weekend (September 12-14). They are scheduled for the West St. Pete CommUnity Fest at the end of September, and they will open The Hallows stage at Suwannee Hulaween Friday, October 25.
This new single is squarely in the band’s wheelhouse with its wide range of influences.
The song’s groove is rooted in hip hop, while the instrumentation brings in an alternative spacey feel. It’s an exciting curveball from their usual funky and upbeat style. The lyrics touch on cutting loose ties and how difficult it is to survive in a world so reliant on money.
Ajeva are: Reed Skahill, vocals; Taylor Gilchrist, bass; Mike Nivens, guitar; Lyndon Thacker, keyboards; and Tucker Sody, drums.
