Tire Fire: Colorado-bound!
From the dictionary:
Tire Fire
/Tār Fār/
noun
1. Appalachian Tire Burning Music
2. Bluegrass Fusion from the Southeast
This amazing sextet have become true favorites in their two home states of Florida and Georgia, and there are nothing but smiles from exhausted dancers when they finish their set.
Tire Fire are: Justin Davis, guitar; Trey Miller, banjo; Dani Jaye, fiddle; Arrie Bozeman, mandolin; Sean Hartley, bass; and Dave Gerulat, drums. Everybody sings, and they are all multi-instrumentalists.
We were completely knocked out by their show at Sunshine Get Down in May, where we wrote:
Tire Fire, for my money the best definition of the Florida-Georgia line, blew out a magnificent set of amazing bluegrass fusion. The decision a while back to add drummer Dave Gerulat pushed this band from A to A+; he works so well with bass titan Sean Hartley. Everybody sings, and banjo, guitar, mandolin, and fiddle encircle around the stage in a whirlwind of wonderful sound. Lead vocalist Trey Miller is an engaging frontman, and he led the troops through many of their classics, with “Two Trains,” “Emanon,” “Get Off My Lawn,” and “Lawn Chair Tycoon” among the favorites. Did we mention Arrie Bozeman, Dani Jaye, and Justin Davis? We should!
They were equally impressive a few days later opening for Perpetual Groove at New World Tampa; read about that show here.
And now they are prepared to spread the “Full Gospel” from the Appalachians to those younger, taller mountains out in Colorado with special shows in Boulder, Steamboat Springs, and Denver August 22-24. DON’T MISS THEM!
