Tapping the Bottomless Font of Sauce Pocket
Jazz? Rock? Jam? Percolating psychedelic space funk?
In the case of Sauce Pocket from Jacksonville, the answer on all counts is YES! This outstanding collective, in just three short years, has exploded on the Florida scene with scores of great concerts and shows and numerous outstanding festival appearances at Resonate Suwannee, Whippersnap Music & Arts Festival, Orange Blossom Jamboree, and many more.
Sauce Pocket are part of the huge 50th birthday celebration for David Rakower Friday, July 12, at The Floridian Social, along with MiniM and Tamayo. The August calendar includes a pair of shows with like-minded funksters Dionysus from Gainesville. They will play a show with The War & Treaty in Denver in September, and for the first time they are officially on the Suwannee Hulaween lineup (after a few renegade sets!).
Sauce Pocket are: Matt Horhota, tenor saxophone; Riley O’Brien, drums; Taylor Ivie, bass; Steven Rose, guitar; Aaron Thorla, keyboards; and Jessica Jones, vocals.
Hot off the press!
We are set to release our fourth live record, Electric Boogaloo, later this month (July), and our first studio album with Jessica Jones will be out in September!
