Joe Marcinek Does The Dead, The Allmans, The Meters… and Joe Marcinek!

International man of mystery Joe Marcinek continues to assemble bands from the greatest talent across the U.S. for shows performing as the Joe Marcinek Band, as Dead Funk Summit, as Funky Dead Allmans, and, frankly, as anything he wants. That rolls on tonight (Saturday, July 27) Teddy O’Brien’s in Highwood IL and then Sunday for the annual Jerry Garcia Birthday Show at Cappizo Studio in Saugatuck.

Dead Funk Summit plays The Lemon Squeeze in New Paltz the night before Phish, and JMB heads to New York for a show at Iridium. There is a two-day Woodstock tribute festival called Sweatstock; JMB will play both days, one a Tribute to Woodstock set.

After a quick break, Marcinek heads to his second home (Florida) for three great shows, then tears out to California for a show at Berkeley and then a special Dead Funk Summit set at June Lake Jam Fest with Jason Hann, Rob Barraco, JP MClean, Reed Mathis, and Cliff Porter! And on to Las Vegas and Bender Jamboree.

And feast your eyes on the Chicago show November 30 with the amazing Liquid Soul and the Tracy Silverman Project featuring Roy ‘Futureman’ Wooten!

And he’ll just keep adding shows, so watch his space (ours, too).
