The Cowboy Moon Festival: Tickets on sale this week
Miramar Beach, Florida has become a mecca for on-site festivals over the past few years. The Topeka organization describes their events as “music vacations” as opposed to festivals, with acts starting in the late afternoon to give everyone a chance to lounge at the beach, rent kayaks, and explore the area without missing any of the music . With reserved seating in groups called “coves” and food and drink delivered to your seats, these festivals provide a luxurious way to listen to some great music, and the festival site is literally right next to the beach. Events featuring Brandi Carlile, The Avett Brothers, The Tedeschi Trucks Band and many others are scheduled for upcoming shows in the heart of the Florida panhandle.
This November, the site will host the Cowboy Moon festival, with a lineup that will get me in the seats. Curated by Lyle Lovett and featuring Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway, the legendary Little Feat, and Americana heroes Hayes Carll, The Mavericks, Paul Thorn and Nikki Lane, this one is going to be a great one. Tickets go on sale Thursday, April 4, but early access is available though their website.
