Kowan Turner: HUGE Dynamite in a Small Package
We fully intended to have this post out for Kowan Turner’s birthday, then missed it by a day, then a week. But this one IS on time to tell you about some special events coming up for the Denver drummer who plays with Steady Flow and his band Kowan and Company.

Turner is in huge demand in the area, working with a variety of musicians in numerous configurations. And, yes, his birthday was December 28, but he is celebrating it this Saturday, January 6, with a talent-laden night Alive at Knew Conscious in Denver. Kowan and Company for this show features Will Gaines, bass; Caton Sollenberger (The Jauntee), guitar; Enmanuel Alexander, guitar; and Dominick Williams, keyboards. And there will be special guests including DeShawn Alexander, Brittany Beckett, Lucas Miguel Parker, Nico Jiménez, and more.
Cervantes’ Masterpiece Theater in Denver will host a very special show March 16: MICHAEL vs. CHAKA vs. PRINCE. Turner has invited a host of friends to make this show happen, with Terrence Houston (George Porter Jr. / Slugger), Anjelika Joseph (Tank And The Bangaz / Galactic), JoFoKe (Same Cloth), Lyle Divinsky (formerly with The Motet), Jonathan Mones (Ghost-Note), Nate Miller, Solomon Chapman (Same Cloth), Sharay Reed (Cory Henry & Funk Apostles), Tanner Brown (Steady Flow / Kowan & Company), and Brittany Beckett (Watermelon Funk).
In September, at the Jamboozled Music & Arts Festival in Mendota, Illinois, turner will be artist at large!
