Whippersnap Music & Arts Festival Makes a Tsunami of a Splash!
There were teasers about this brand new festival set to debut next February at Florida Sand Music Ranch in Brooksville. Then blind-faith tickets went on sale (and we strongly suggested you take advantage) and promptly sold out.
Now Whippersnap Music & Arts Festival has announced their initial lineup for February 22-24, and it is a monster! At least ten more bands and artists will be added, but just this lineup is plenty and enough for you to grab tickets. We mention that because this is a small venue, and when this sells out (AND IT WILL), you don’t want to be left out.
Topping the list are TAUK Moore and Cool Cool Cool. TAUK are the powerhouse prog rock and fusion masters, and they are joining forces with another powerhouse, the astounding Kanika Moore. If you don’t yet recognize the name Cool Cool Cool, know that most of the band were formerly with Turkuaz. Since going out on their own last year, they have crushed at their own shows and on the Remain in Light tour with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew.
A number of Florida’s best from a wide cross-section of genres will be on display, beginning with some familiar and welcome faces: The Heavy Pets, Ajeva, Displace, and Antelope (A Tribute to Phish).
The true Georgia-Florida ensemble Tire Fire, genre-bending Boxcar Hollow, and superb new entry Light the Wire are all in the mix, as are The Frank Bang 4, dripping with the blues.
We are ready to check out the funk, psychedelic rock, and fusion of Bodhicitta of Wisconsin. Tamayo has been lighting up the stage this past year, and rockers The Moonstone Riders are all set as well. The Sgammato Music School Showcase will highlight some of the most talented young people playing music you have ever seen… and heard!
Last but definitely not least, Joe Marcinek and Jessica Jones will be stage-hopping all weekend as Artists at Large.
Trust us when we say the next wave of artists for Whippersnap Music & Arts Festival will be just as impressive.
