The Lee Boys with Melody Trucks: Another Joyous Occasion

In December of last year, long-time friends decided to try a musical collaboration that spiraled toward heaven. It was so wonderful that they all reprised their union with another run together in May, again with magnificent results. And now, for the third time, Melody Trucks will join The Lee Boys in righteous performance, with four shows this week in Florida.

The first show finds them at the House of Music in Tallahassee Wednesday, then on to Melbourne at Pineapples and Terra Fermata in Stuart. The brief tour ends at the amazing (and free) Florida Fin Fest on Seawalk Pavillion in Jacksonville Beach Saturday, where The Lee Boys and Melody Trucks join an incredible array of talent.

You know The Lee Boys as one of the premier African-American sacred steel ensembles in the U.S., joined by Melody Trucks, who has fronted several of her own bands and also performs in Brother & Sister with brother Vaylor Trucks.

The Lee Boys are: Brian “Dirty” Byrd, pedal steel guitar, vocals; Derrick Lee, vocals; Alvin Lee, guitar, vocals; Little Al Cordy, bass, vocals; Earl “Big Easy” Walker, drums.
