Joni Bottari Ready to Rage at Cage Friday

Joni Bottari is a regular member of the excellent Delray Beach group Spiral Light, and she is also a member of thetouring collective known as Brown Eyed Women, a wonderful all-female Grateful Dead tribute band. Bottari is lead guitarist, and she has also been drafted by another ensemble: China Dolls.

Bottari performed twice last year at Grateful Gathering at Maddox Ranch in Lakeland, with Spiral Light and as Joni Bottari & Friends. She had not played previously with any of those “friends.” It didn’t take long into the set for her to confide: “I didn’t have any friends; now I have LOTS of friends!”

Bottari & Friends will be back at this year’s Grateful Gathering November 17-19, presented by Cage Brewing. And speaking of Cage Brewing in St. Petersburg, Joni Bottari & Friends will rage at Cage this Friday, September 15. The friends include her Spiral Light bandmate Nick Landess, keyboards, vocals; Rich Whiteley, guitar, vocals (Uncle John’s Band); Christian Walker, bass, vocals (Dead Set Florida); and Michael Garrie, drums, vocals, great faces (Dead Set Florida, Antelope).
