Founders Entertainment has just announced the addition of Ice Spice to the Governors Ball Music Festival’s 2023 lineup. She’ll take the stage on Friday alongside other hip hop artists such as Lil Uzi Vert, Metro Boomin, KayCyy, Joey Bada$$, and Maxo Kream.
Who is Ice Spice?
Ice Spice, who hails from the Bronx, has been making waves and was recently tagged as Rap’s New Princess by the New York Times. The 23-year-old is most known for her hit “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2,” which features fellow Gov Ball ’23 performer PinkPantheress.
Her first two singles were “Bully Freestyle” and “No Clarity,” but she truly jumped on the radar when her tune “Munch (Feelin’ U)” caught the attention of Drake, who played it on his Sirius XM radio station, then taking TikTok by storm last fall and thus landing a record deal with Capitol Records. Though she and PinkPantheress are set to perform on different days, fans can hope for a duo performance of “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2”.
