The Good News About… Guavatron

“Hello, I’m Scott. I’d like to tell you the good news about… Guavatron!”

What IS Guavatron, exactly? How about: a quartet that plays jamtronica, disco, funk, prog rock, metal, and trance-dance music to create non-stop dance parties every time they step on stage. In their seventh year, they are mainstays on the Florida festival and concert scene and beyond, packing clubs and spreading those trance-dance vibes everywhere.

Guavatron are: Adonis Guava, guitar, vocals; Roddy Hansen, keyboards; Conor Crookham, bass; and Casey Luden, drums, vocals. The members met before they entered college. Their epiphany came at the AURA Music & Arts Festival, where they realized that playing music was exactly what they wanted to do with their lives. This lineup has been intact since 2016.

Guavatron have a big July lined up, which actually starts a week early (June 24) at Maxi’s Lineup in Jupiter. They will be joined by Tasty Vibrations at Terra Fermata on July 2, then play NPB Public House on Independence Day. They have a pair of shows lined up at Dunedin Brewery; exciting new group MiniM will open for them July 15.

After a show at the wonderful Guanabanas Island Restaurant and Bar July 20, they head off for three outstanding venues, starting July 22 at Congress Street Social Club in Savannah with Brock Butler of Perpetual Groove: hence, Perpetual Guava. Then it’s off to The One Stop at Asheville Music Hall on July 23 and then Heist Brewery and Barrel Arts in Charlotte on July 24.

Guavatron will return to Guanabanas July 31 for the 7th annual Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash with an amazing lineup of music kicking off at noon. Guavatron is in the mix with Unlimited Devotion, Funking Grateful, Road to Nowhere (Talking Heads tribute), Souljam, Low Ground, and Victoria Cardona. (A word about Cardona: she is one of the best loopers you will ever hear.)

Did we even mention that the debut Guavatron studio album Momentous is out now?
