Borderland Festival Announces Eclectic Lineup Featuring The Flaming Lips, Portugal. The Man and More
Borderland Festival returns to bucolic Knox Farm State Park, NY this fall with an eclectic lineup headed up by psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips, alt-rock band Portugal. The Man, feel-good pied-pipers Michael Franti & Spearhead, bluegrass Grammy-winners The Infamous Stringdusters, and more. Set to take place September 17 & 18 at historic Knox Farm, the event will host a diverse mix of national and regional rock, country, bluegrass, and Americana artists.
Fans can enjoy more than 20 bands across three stages including performances by Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel featuring a gospel choir and Williams playing Grateful Dead songs; Buffalo’s beloved Americana outfit Donna The Buffalo; New Orleans funk giants Dumpstaphunk; and female-fronted, New York bluegrass band-on-the-rise Driftwood among others.
“We went a little out of the box this year with our headliners. This is the fourth year for Borderland, and every year we aim to make it better and more memorable for both our loyal fans and newcomers,” said festival producer and owner Jennifer Brazil in a press release. “We know the talent we have lined up will bring an unparalleled energy to the stage and throw in a few surprises along the way. We are always looking to expand and grow and can’t wait to share this with Western New York. We are so proud to host this festival, supporting local business, local artists, and as always environmental awareness.”
Attendees can also look forward to work from local artisans, vendors, a Sunday football zone near the Homespun Stage where local bands will perform, live painting, local craft beer, and food and culinary experiences. A curated kids area with face-painting, games and music is free for all kids 10 and under.
