‘Angelheaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan & T.Rex’ Premieres

The film Angelheaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan & T.Rex premiered June 11 at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. That comes almost two years after the release of an album of the same name with many of rock’s greats involved in the recording.

One of those was Richard Barone, a great American rock musician originally from Tampa known first for his time with The Bongos. As Wikipedia notes, Barone “works as a songwriter, arranger, author, director, and record producer, releases albums as a solo artist, tours, and has created concert events.” His Wikipedia entry contains a stunning array of contributions to projects as varied as Peggy Lee, Liza Minnelli, Lou Reed, and David Bowie.

Barone sang on four of the tracks from the 2020 album Angelheaded Hipster and was front and center for the premier of the new film about his idol Marc Bolan. Here are several photos he shared about the experience. Bravo, Richard!
