GroundUP Music Festival Serves Up Music, Unique Workshops, Late-Night Shows & More
With just days to go, the highly anticipated 5th Annual GroundUP Music Festival announced an extensive list of interactive experiences including late-night shows, artist-led masterclasses, and exclusive cocktail and brunch performances. Set to take place May 6-8 at The North Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach, FL, the Snarky Puppy-led event features an all-star lineup of jazz, jam, soul, fusion, and world music greats including Cory Henry, Kimbra, Moonchild, and many more.

Capped at 1,800 attendees for each day, the limited-capacity festival offers fans unique, intimate experiences found in very few places on the music scene. Besides one-of-a-kind oceanside jams, the event’s masterclasses will give fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite artists, who will hold sway on North Beach’s crystalline sands as well as around the festival grounds. Free with the purchase of a ticket, the classes include such topics as “Freedom in Duo” with Snarky Puppy members pianist Bill Laurence and bassist Michael League; an artist-to-artist conversation with Kimbra & Georgia Anne Muldrow; and a songwriting workshop with Moonchild. A complete list of workshops can be found on the GroundUP Music Festival official website.
Exemplary late-night sets are another quintessential feature of the festival. These include performances by world fusion outfit Banda Magda, acclaimed jazz musician and educator Zach Larmer, The Nth Power’s drummer and driving force Nikki Glaspie & Friends, plus much more. Tickets are just $29.00 per show and can be purchased via the the festival’s website.
For an additional fee, fans can also purchase passes to hang with the artists before the festival even opens for pre-concert cocktails and special brunches. Festival-goers can feast on cocktails, bites, and delicious brunch by gourmet chefs while enjoying A Capella by the sea, artist rehearsals, and private, intimate unplugged performances each day. Tickets for the Meet & Greets can be purchased here.

Begun in 2017 by Snarky Puppy bandleader Michael League and GroundUP CEO and Miami Beach native Paul Lehr, the festival draws passionate music lovers from all over the world. With the adjacent Palm Grove Park and beachfront complex and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop, music will unfold across two stages, offering fans seamless enjoyment. This year’s GroundUP Music Festival is the first time the event has taken place since 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic shut down much of the world. The festival was initially rescheduled for February but was postponed due to rising Covid cases.
