Jon Stickley Trio Invites Listeners to Breath Easy With New Single “Take The Air”: Listen
Genre-bending instrumental group Jon Stickley Trio rolls into 2022 with breezy new single “Take The Air.” Issued via Organic Records, the tune follows not far behind “Golden Eagle” and “Death By Rainbow,” two energetic singles released last year in the midst of the ongoing pandemic.
Made up of innovative picker Jon Stickley on guitar, violin virtuoso Lyndsay Pruett, and artful drummer Hunter Deacon, the Jon Stickley Trio often serves up songs of free-flowing joy crafted with honeyed melodies and dynamic grooves wrapped around masterfully arranged sections. While “Take The Air” follows suit, the tune takes a simpler approach to composition and is deftly built around Stickley’s unadorned riffs. Pruett and Deacon contribute mightily to the song’s uncomplicated effervescence with Stickley’s nimble guitar playing at its center.
Its silky grooves ruminate on the simple pleasures of life like gathering with good friends or soaking in nature’s bounty. “Over the last couple years, I found a lot of comfort in getting outside and taking walks,” said Stickley in a statement. “This song ‘Take The Air’ came to me after taking a stroll and thinking about all the picker buddies I was missing. It’s the kind of laid-back tune I’d love to sit around on the porch and play with some good friends. I hope it brings everyone a little peace like a good walk can.”
