Keb’ Mo’ Releases New Single “Good To Be (Home Again)”: LISTEN

Five-time Grammy winner and legendary bluesman Keb’ Mo’ is out with new single “Good To Be (Home Again)” ahead of the release of his highly anticipated upcoming album Good To Be set to be issued on January 21 via Rounder Records.

The new tune comes after several tracks were released in 2021 including “Sunny and Warm,” “The Medicine Man,” (featuring Old Crow Medicine Show), and a cover of the Bill Withers’ classic “Lean on Me,” all of which appear on Good To Be. Late last year,  Mo’ announced his new album with an official single and accompanying video “Good Strong Woman” featuring award-winning singer/songwriter and Hootie & The Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker.

“‘Good To Be (Home Again)” feels like the title track to my life,” said  Kevin Moore (a.k.a. Keb’ Mo’) in a press release. Listen to the new single below.

The album was co-produced by Mo’ alongside country music legend Vince Gill, who produced three of the album’s 13 tracks, and three-time Grammy winner Tom Hambridge (B.B. King, Buddy Guy). Darius Rucker, Kristin Chenoweth, and Old Crow Medicine Show all make guest appearances on the album, which is available for pre-order via Keb’ Mo’s official website.

While writing Good To Be between Nashville, TN and his childhood home of Compton, CA, Mo’ found himself reflecting on the concepts of home, belonging, and what it takes to stay true to oneself. “You can’t bring an attitude to Compton,” he said. “You can’t pose. You can’t be anything but real when you’re walking down the same streets you used to ride your bike on as a kid. In a lot of ways, coming back there felt like it completed me.”
