Funk You Set to Bring “Moving Forward” Tour to the Southeast

The world is moving forward in these strange times, and so is Funk You, with a continuation of their massive “Moving Forward Tour” in support of the band’s newest album of the same name. The 17-date winter tour will find the Georgia-based nonet taking a jaunt across the Southeast to bring their special brand of infectious, soul-infused, high-octane Southern funk to music-starved fans in Florida, Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana.


Funk You — Mandi Nulph

Beginning in Jacksonville, FL on January 27, the tour takes off for eight stops in the Sunshine State, including Boca Raton on January 28, Tampa on January 29, Orlando on February 2, Jupiter on February 3, Key West on February 4 and 5 and Fort Walton Beach on February 8. They’ll then head to Mobile, AL on February 9 and on to Texas for three stops in Dallas on February 10, Houston on February 11, and Austin on February 12.

The tour will continue to Little Rock, AR for a performance on February 16 before heading to Mississippi for stops in Oxford on February 17 and Jackson on February 18. Funk You will wrap it up with a show in New Orleans on February 19 before a short break when they land in Beech Mountain, NC on March 12.  The new dates come on the heels of a huge tour begun in late summer and stretching through winter of last year.

Released in September 21, Moving Forward is the band’s sixth studio release, a collection of heartfelt, dance-inducing tunes that were forged in the midst of pandemic-related delays and shutdowns. Recorded at Prana Recording Studio in Liburn, GA by Funk You drummer Will Clark and sound engineer Andy Headland, Moving Forward pushes the band into new sonic territories focusing on a rich studio sound. Listeners can expect Funk You’s signature party-igniting, high-energy funk driven by their dynamite rhythm section and brilliant horns while pulling back the curtain on the band’s full-court press into new musical adventures.
