‘Don’t Look Up’: Magnificent Soundtrack

First, let’s be VERY clear. We are NOT talking about the Ariana Grande & Kid Cudi tune or the one by Bon Iver. If you dig those, fine. Millions of people on Spotify have rung those up.

No, the real action for fans of jazzy television and movie soundtracks such as Cowboy Bebop, Jonny Quest, Peter Gunn, The Jetsons, The Mandalorian, and Castle and music from anime and video games comes from the rest of the album.

Chances are, given all that was happening during the movie, you might not have noticed just how outstanding the soundtrack to Don’t Look Up created by Nicholas Britell was. This is the incidental music from the Netflix film, ℗ 2021 Maisie Music Publishing, LLC, under exclusive license to Republic Records, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc.

Producer, Associated  Performer, Orchestra/ Member: Nicholas Britell
Studio  Personnel, Engineer, Mixer, Associated  Performer, Orchestra/ Member: Casey Stone
Studio  Personnel, Mastering  Engineer: Patricia Sullivan
Composer  Lyricist: Nicholas Britell

Clearly, a full orchestra was involved, and some of this music is incredibly hip, especially the opening theme and closing credits music. Check out this full track here.

And now that we’ve whetted your whistle, check out the entire soundtrack.

BRAVO, BRITELL!
