Lightning in a Bottle Reveals Scintillating 2022 Lineup

Lightning in a Bottle is out with a swoon-worthy lineup for its 2022 incarnation that features a diverse lineup reaching beyond the boundaries of electronic music, including GRiZ, Glass Animals, CloZee, Black Coffee, Kayatranda, Big Freedia, Big Wild, Monolink and many more. Produced by Los Angeles-based live experience creators Do LaB, Lightning in a Bottle will return to Buena Vista Lake in Southern California May 25-30 over Memorial Day Weekend.

The five-day bacchanal will kick off with performances by the Desert Hearts Crew’s Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, and Porky for a return of their famed Lakeside Launch Party, this time taking over the new sandy enclave appropriately dubbed LIBeach. Adding to this, there will be a four-hour Joe Kay Experience (Soulection) set on Thursday night at The Stacks.

Following the opening festivities, fans can revel in a collection of modern music’s biggest innovators as well as many up-an-comers playing across three stages. The flagship Lightning Stage will showcase performances by Glass Animals, Kaytranada, GRiZ, SG Lewis, Purity Ring, Chet Faker, Little Simz, Empress Of, Monolink, Rexx Life Raj, Elder Island, Lastlings, Blu DeTiger, Austin Millz, Gone Gone Beyond, Moontricks, Hermanos Gutiérrez, and Muzi.

Thunder, known traditionally as the event’s bass music enclave, will transform into a tree-lined theater featuring a cross-section of talent from multiple genres. Topping Thunder’s bill will be electronic composer and singer Big Wild,  DJ and producer CloZee, and Los Angeles bass icon Ekali. They’ll be joined by New Orleans bounce legend Big Freedia, reggae singer and rapper Koffee, and American rapper Goldlink. Thunder will also feature the experimental soundscapes of G Jones B2B EPROM, LSDream, Mr. Carmack and OPIUO.

Famed house and techno hideaway — the Woogie stage — will expand to a full day of Thursday programming for the 2022 event. The stage’s international lineup is topped by South-African forerunner Black Coffee, the inimitable Four Tet, globe-trotter Seth Troxler, and U.K. house star Maya Jane Coles. Woogie will also feature performances by electronic music veterans Jon Hopkins, Max Cooper, Hernan Cattaneo, Yotto, WhoMadeWhoInnellea Kyle Watson, DJ Minx and Marques Wyatt alongside the next generation of stars like VNSSA, Lubelski, SOHMI, HoneyLuv, and Carlita.

LIB also revealed a new boutique camping experience, Atlaswyld, The festival-within-a-festival will feature glamping options and elevated content including luxurious accommodations in Bell and Kodiak tents or Airstream trailers, yoga and wellness classes, culinary programming, happy hour mixers, and other high-end encounters.
