Journey Announces Massive 40-Date North American Tour w/ Billy Idol, Toto

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rock band Journey will hit the road in 2022 on their upcoming Freedom tour, a 40-city North American all-arena tour that will include support from legendary rock bands Billy Idol and Toto on select dates.

The first leg of the tour is set to launch on February 22 in Pittsburgh, PA where Journey will connect with Billy Idol, who will open on all dates through April 5 in Los Angeles. From there. Journey links up with Toto for the second leg starting on April 7 in San Diego, CA and will carry the band through the remaining schedule that ultimately wraps up on May 11 in Hartford, CT.

The San Francisco-based rockers have previously released 14 studio albums, and longtime fans of the band can get excited about Journey’s latest upcoming studio album Freedom, set to be released in 2022, the band’s first LP since 2011’s Eclipse,

Freedom will be the third album to feature Arnel Pineda as the lead vocalist on all Journey releases from Revelation (2008) onwards. Journey has been quite busy in 2021 with headlining performances at the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago and at We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert in addition to a regular stops on the band’s summer tour. Journey features founder Neal Schon (lead guitarist), Jonathan Cain (keyboards, backing vocals), Arnel Pineda (lead vocals) Jason Derlatka (keyboards, backing vocals), and Deen Castranovo (drums, backing vocals).
