Welcome Back, Dunedin Brewery Oktobeerfest!
Like most other annual events, Dunedin Brewery’s Oktobeerfest was shelved last year (as were the 2020 and 2021 editions of their Spring Beer Jam). Finally, Oktobeerfest is a reality October 7-10, featuring seasonal beer, German food, and live music, in any order you prefer.
Thursday, Oktobeer 7 @ 7:00 p.m.
Thursday is Literstein Heritage Night. Those who frequent DunBrew often purchase the year’s commemorative liter stein, which can be refilled throughout the year at a superb discount.
The DeLeon Family Band are regulars on the Oktobeerfest musical menu, offering excellent and authentic music to kick the weekend off in style.
Friday, Oktobeer 8 @ 7:00 p.m.
There is a double-header lineup, beginning with The Tom Bennett Band Does Dark Side Of The Moon at 8:00 p.m. under the tent outdoors. After seeing them last year at Monster Mash, we noted: “The Tom Bennett Band purports to play piano pop prog, and that is accurate, but it really doesn’t begin to describe them. This is an electric group and comedy show showed rolled into one.”
The Walking Collective, the personal project of drum scientist James Adkins featuring a cast of musicians from Orlando, follow at 10:00 p.m. inside the brewery. He was the propulsive force behind The Conglomerate. Brace yourself.
Saturday, Oktobeer 9 @ 7:00 p.m.
Perpetual Guava is the amazing collaboration of Brock William Butler, songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist for Perpetual Groove, and West Palm Beach trance-dance masters Guavatron, who funk, prog-rock, and jamtronic with the best of them, beginning at 8:00 p.m. under the tent. They’ve done this set several times, including one in June at Crazy Uncle Mike’s in Boca Raton.
The Ricca Project Live Hip Hop Mixtape takes the party inside at 10:00 p.m. This killer project features guitarist Jesse Ricca with two of The Heavy Pets: Jim Wuest on keyboards and Jamie Newitt on drums.
Sunday, Oktobeer 10 @ 7:00 p.m.
DJ 45Revolver is a master at what he does, which is precisely what his name implies. That’s one hard-working DJ slapping some choice vintage 45s on his two turntables!
