Super Bowl LVI Announces Pepsi Halftime Show Performers
The Super Bowl LVI Pepsi halftime show performers have been announced.
Hip Hop legends Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar will join R&B great Mary J. Blige to perform at this year’s big game. This will be the first time they will all perform onstage together. The 2022 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show will take place February 13 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The aforementioned performers hold a total of forty-three Grammy Awards combined, with Eminem winning fifteen along with Mary J. Blige winning nine of the golden gramophones. Together, they have created twenty-two No. 1 Billboard albums.
“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” Dr. Dre said in a statement. “I’m grateful to JAY-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”
For the third year in a row, Jay Z’s Roc Nation will collaborate with Pepsi and the NFL to produce the halftime show that reaches an annual worldwide audience of 160 million viewers. Two years ago Jennifer Lopez and Shakira had the spotlight at Super Bowl LIV in Miami, while The Weeknd headlined the halftime show for Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Florida this year.
SoFi Stadium opened to fans in 2021 as a sports and entertainment stadium in Inglewood, home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers football teams of the National Football League. The stadium cost $4.963 billion, making it the most expensive sports venue ever built.
