3 Days of Heads and Dead This Weekend in North Florida
The original plan, as devised by Get Laws’t Entertainment, was to provide a great three-day layover after the Dead and Company shows in West Palm Beach and Tampa (October 6 & 7) and before the show October 11 in Charlotte. The fact that the Florida shows were nixed in a battle of COVID protocol wills doesn’t diminish 3 Days of Heads and Dead in the least; in fact, it provides a great outlet for the Sunshine State.
Those who attended Fool’s Engagement Music & Arts Festival April 1-3 can attest to the sheer beauty of Ellie Ray’s RV Resort in Branford, on the Santa Fe River in the springs region of north Florida. The friendly, relaxed setting has plenty of room for camping and RVs. Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and boating are all available.
In addition to live music and live art, there will be food and merch vendors, including Shakedown Street with Art Village brought to you by the one and only Black Sheep Circus. Tickets are extremely reasonable, and the family-friendly atmosphere invites children under 12 with paid adult or guardian free!
About the music…
There is plenty of Dead on tap, and lots more as well. Start with Ship of Fools playing two sets of Dead; Tom Marcellis Band performing the Dead and more, three sets worth; and Joy Wagon + Lazy Sunday performing as Grateful Wagon featuring special guests.
Displacing Ajeva is another of those glorious collaborations, this time mashing up Displace and Ajeva. Firewater Tent Revival plays anything and everything: buckle up. If you haven’t latched onto Steeln’ Peaches: A Revue of The Allman Brothers Band, then your time is now!
Tampa funkmeisters The Reality and Jacksonville rockers Grindstone Sinners are ready to throw down, and Sweat Out the Devil delights twice. Finally, what, really, can you say about The Unlistenables?
