The Evolution of “Blue Monday”

In 1983, English rockers New Order released “Blue Monday,” a post-punk electronic dance sensation that was at the time the greatest-selling 12-inch single.

Fast-forward 15 years to American alternative metal rockers Orgy and their cover of the New Order smash in 1998 from their album Candyass.

Jet ahead another 21 years to the release of Wonder Woman 84 in 2019, which utilized the song as well as a reworking by Sebastian Böhm in the soundtrack.

Then dial back to 2016 for this astonishing cover by Orkestra Obsolete performed using musical instruments of the 1930s.
