Killer Night in Store with Follow the Monarchs and Between Bluffs
Looking for a good time? Call DUN-BREW. They’ve got a great show in store for you Friday night, September 24. On the brewery calendar, it says this:
Between Bluffs plays Progressive Americana Rock
Follow The Monarchs plays Psychedelic Punk Rock
In fairness, there wasn’t room for much more on the calendar, but let’s just say that barely scratches the surface of the dynamic range and sonic abilities of both bands.
The Facebook page for Between Bluffs gets a good bit closer to the reality: Eclectic Art Rock • Jam • Americana • Newgrass • Folk • Metal • Jamericana • Psychedelic • Southern surf rock. The band has been on the Florida West Coast scene for a dozen years but truly skyrocketed to prominence several years ago with mind-blowing performances unveiling some great concept space rock music. Between Bluffs are: Jerrod Simpson, guitar, vocals; Melbourne Walsh, lead guitar; Justin Davis on upright bass, harmonies; Brad Myers on keyboards, synth; and Joe Russek III, drums. For the show Friday Eric Layana from Vivid Moxie will be sitting in on drums.
Follow the Monarchs is one of several outstanding musical outlets for the creative energies of Michael Lyn Bryant, proprietor of Dunedin Brewery when he’s not making amazing music. Post-Punk Post-Rock psychedelic madness might be a further clarification of what Follow the Monarchs do. The band’s eponymous album drops tomorrow on all platforms as well, so this is an album-release party! Follow the Monarchs are: Alex Serious, keyboards, vocals; Joe King, guitar; Michael Lyn Bryant, guitar, synth, the red phone; Cabe Cristler, bass; and the brand new addition to the group: Brad Elliot, drums.
And you can Follow the Monarchs to Bradenton on Saturday!
