Displace and Guavatron Friday at Crowbar in Ybor City

CRIMONY! Another collab show? HELL, YES, IT IS!

This Friday, September 24, Tampa’s Displace and Guavatron from West Palm Beach will descend upon Crowbar in Ybor City, presented by Brokenmold Entertainment, for a night of musical magic.

This is Displace 3.0 (we think), this new edition grown out of Chris Sgammato’s Accidental Necessity show last December. Founding member Sgammato, who plays keyboards, alto sax, and guitar and sings, discovered a winning combination with Christopher Barbosa, violin, keyboards; Nathan Barnitz, bass; and Evan Thibeault, drums. Their range is wide, and the playing top-notch. They have delighted every time out, including at Kenny Stadelman, We’ve Got Your Back benefit and in a collab with The Reality.

Guavatron are Florida’s jamtronic/prog rock kings (we so declare). They crush every time they step on stage, including Fool’s Engagement (two sets), Orange Blossom Jamboree, their own collab with The Reality, and their Perpetual Guava collab with Brock Butler of Perpetual Groove (which they will reprise at Dunedin Brewery Oktobeerfest). Guavatron are: Roddy Hansen– keyboards/synths; Conor Crookham– bass guitar; Adonis Guava– guitar/vocals; and Casey Luden– drums.
