The Gilmour Project Makes Highly Anticipated Debut with June 24 Livestream

The Gilmour Project, the monumental exploration of David Gilmour’s Pink Floyd repertoire, was on the cusp of launching in April 2020 when COVID-19 placed the world on pause. Now, with the music world slowly regaining its mojo, the all-star ensemble is set to make their debut with a livestream set for June 24 at 7 p.m. PT from The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA.

The Gilmour Project

Made up of five legendary musicians including Jeff Pevar (lead guitar with CSN, David Crosby, Phil Lesh, Ray Charles); Kasim Sulton (bass/vocals with Todd Rundgren’s Utopia, Meatloaf and Blue Oyster Cult), Prairie Prince (co-founder of The Tubes and drummer with Todd Rundgren, Jefferson Starship, Phil Lesh); Mark Karan (guitar/vocals with Bob Weir, RatDog, The Other Ones); and Scott Guberman (keyboard & vocals with Phil Lesh), The Gilmour Project is set to blow minds. Not since Blue Floyd (a collective of top-notch musicians that included Pevar and Prince) came together in 2000 to plumb the depths of Pink Floyd’s genius has there been a group capable of improvising sonic transmutations while remaining faithful to Pink Floyd’s musical touchstones.

The Gilmour Project promises the improvisational jam gestalt of the legendary Blue Floyd, coupled with Pink Floyd deep tracks, hits, and fan favorites, including solo Gilmour gems. The performance will be captured by “Floydian” audio FX from Paul Simon producer Michael Gaiman (Graceland – The Remixes). This will be the opening salvo heralding The Gilmour Project’s US tour, set to start in January 2022.

The first 500 live stream purchasers will receive the “ECHOES OF BIRTH” Rehearsal Mixtape download. Culled from the Gilmour Project’s June 21-23 rehearsals chronicling the band’s start, the electrifying content will never be sold or made available any other way. All livestream purchasers will also automatically receive first-tier access to VIP tickets for all January tour dates being announced June 20 and on sale June 24-25.
