Lollapalooza Returns to Chicago This Summer with Massive Lineup
Lollapalooza returns to Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, this summer with a dazzling lineup that includes headliners Foo Fighters; Post Malone; Tyler, the Creator; Miley Cyrus; and Megan Thee Stallion. Set for July 29-August 1, the massive event will also include performances by luminaries from rock, hip hop, rap, pop, dance, and electronic worlds such as DaBaby, Marshmello, Illeniium, Modest Mouse, Journey, Young Thug, and Playboi Carti.
Lollapalooza was cancelled in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic, and festival organizers are take precautions to keep everyone safe this year. In a press release, festival organizers noted that full COVID-19 vaccinations or negative test results will be required to attend. Negative test results must be obtained within 24 hours of attending the festival each day. Festival organizers are partnering with the city of Chicago to encourage vaccinations.
“Here in Chicago, the word ‘Lollapalooza’ has always been synonymous with summer, great music, and four days of unforgettable fun—which made last year’s decision to postpone it all the more difficult,” Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot said in a press release. “Now, less than a year later and armed with a vaccine that is safe, effective, and widely available, we are able to bring back one of our city’s most iconic summer music festivals. I want to thank the Lollapalooza team for working closely with the City to create a reopening strategy that prioritizes safety and can’t wait to see festival-goers return to Grant Park this summer.”
